@PINE64 is 8gb possible on the rk3566? it'd be a more practical primary device. i do pretty well on my 4gb laptop but largely because the SATA SSD is quite good at swap.

This is going to be fun to watch. As much as I love both Plasma and Plasma Mobile, neither seem particularly designed for an E-ink tablet!

It uses the Rockchip RK3566, which isn't open source really, but far more documentation is publically available than for most SoCs.

It runs Linux, in whatever flavor you want.

I mean, OK it is a prototype but we are not even in this situation as you don't have the main and most important part: the panel.
The SoC at this stage is not a prototype but a proven platform.

Who can spend 400$ on a non-existing proto ?

And damn, I read "Libreoffice" in the news while this one is barely usable on traditional 2012 QuadCore computer. Same mess than w/ phone: You can install Gnome which is unusable but hey, you can install it!

It's not a "non-existing proto", it's already in the hands of developers. There are pictures in the blog, including one where it's displaying a picture.

@PINE64 @hicks @Blort @kde A dedicated page that lists the specs, shows some screenshots, and has some videos actually showing it being used *would* be quite nice, though. Hard to justify $400 if there's nothing that actually shows off how responsive it actually is =)

I understand you could get annoyed by such comment, this is not my intention.
But if you want to announce something, please put the focus on the element, here the panel and the digitizer.
Static photo of turned-off panel or w/ static image just tells me that you don't have anything yet.

Wish you good luck though. I have no interest in you failing.
